SOCCER: Darwen's new signings took centre stage in the pre-season friendly against West Lancs League side Springfields last night.
Mark Heys, the former Clitheroe and Great Harwood forward, equalised after Springfields took an early lead. Midfielder Craig Shaw, signed from Clitheroe, put Darwen in front before the home side equalised again, but Darwen got a late goal to win 3-2.
