SIX children charged with the manslaughter of Nelson pensioner Sheila Bridge will appear at Reedley Youth Court in two weeks on several different allegations.

The youngsters, aged between 10 and 15, attended the youth court separately yesterday on a charge of conspiracy to commit burglary at houses in the vicinity of Mrs Bridge's bungalow, in Lansbury Place, between January 1 and June 29 this year.

A youth panel decided the case of conspiracy should be adjourned until September 3 to coincide with the committal hearing in relation to the manslaughter and burglary charges against all six children.

During the next two weeks the ten, 11 and 13-year-olds will remain in local authority care, the 12 and 14-year-olds will stay in secure accommodation and the 15-year-old at a remand centre.

The 10, 11 and 14-year-old boys are also charged with criminal damage on July 2 to a cell and toilet at Pennine Magistrates Court, the 15-year-old boy is on a separate charge of burglary in Bennett Place on June 26.

The 13-year-old girl will appear at Preston Youth Court on September 18 for a pre-trial review in relation to an assault charge on April 14 in Nelson.
