THEY may have played the Charity Shield match under a roof in Cardiff on Sunday -- but the roof fell in on Preston North End at Gillingham the previous day as we surrendered to the home team in a pitiful performance.

And there was me thinking days such as these were a thing of the past!

I hope David can put things right quickly as there's another awkward game coming up this Saturday.

We met up with some people from the 'Whites in Exile' in the Will Adams pub while in Gillingham and exchanged views on PNE including which signings we could/should have made during the summer.

Most were surprised that we missed out on Darren Caskey leaving Reading on a Bosman.

He signed for Notts County: surely we could have offered him better than them?

The first half of this week (for PSG) was taken up with putting the final touches to our Fans Forum night on Wednesday. Let's hope it was a success following all the hard work in putting it together.

On Saturday its the first home game of the new season. As previously stated Walsall will not be easy.

They have made some interesting signings during the close season, but let's get down there, create a good atmosphere and help the team on to our first three points.
