AFTERNOON teas were served at the home of Ruth and Derek Pickles to raise money for St John's Church, Cliviger, building fund.
Mr Pickles is a former head teacher at the village school and both have long connections with the church.
The event raised £180. Mrs Pickles said: "A lot of money has been spent on the church roof and we need to raise what we can especially as one of the main money raising events the annual Scarlett Strides walk was cancelled because of the foot and mouth crisis."
