IF Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman thought Gainsborough Trinity were a tough proposition, UniBond Premier Division title favourites Barrow could be even trickier.

They are the visitors to the Crown Ground tonight (ko 7.45pm) as the Reds look to bounce back following their 5-2 opening day loss at Trinity.

"We did not play that brilliantly. There were defensive errors but that's not pointing the finger at the defence as we have got to defend as a team," said Coleman.

"We have to take responsibility but we are not a million miles away.

"A few decisions didn't go our way -- a penalty they were given and one we were not which changed the game -- but it's no good harping on about that. That's history and now it's Barrow.

"It is a big game but why can't we upset them?

"Last year, we had won three and thought we were invincible and then went there and lost so why can't we do the same to them?

"They won 6-1 on Saturday and there's no doubt they are a good side that most people are tipping for the title. But these are the type of games we want to be playing."

Barrow have former Burnley player Ian Duerden in their ranks. He was at Kingstonian last year during their great FA Cup run and he is the dangerman.

"They have a couple of others like him as well," added Coleman.

Despite Saturday's loss, the Reds manager took plenty of plus points out of the game.

"Mark Ceraolo and Lutel James looked lively up front together while I was pleased with Peter Cavanagh on his debut.

"Gary Williams came on in the second half and he will play a part tonight."

Meanwhile, in the NWCL Second Division, promotion hopefuls Nelson hope to build on their winning start when they take on Squires Gate at Victoria Park.
