A PAIR of daredevils came down to earth with a bump when their birthday ballooning treat didn't go quite as planned.
Garry Turplin, 40, of Peregrine Drive, Darwen and Ivan Bowling, 56, of Stirling Court, Briercliffe were celebrating their 40th and 56th birthdays.
The balloon ride took off as planned but they ended up landing in isolated countryside near Croston and the retrieval vehicle couldn't find them for hours.
