GOLDEN wedding couple Ted and Nellie Brooks, of Aysgarth Drive, Darwen, celebrated their anniversary at the weekend.
The couple met during a Sunday dance at St Edward's Church and were married at St Joseph's Church in Darwen. Ted, 73, used to run Brooks & Co Garage and also ran a glass fibre company and it was his company which made the top of Darwen Tower in 1971.
Nellie, 72, worked at India Mill for more than 25 years. The couple have two daughters, five grandchildren and one great-grandson and celebrated their anniversary with a family party on Saturday.
Ted said: "We've had a good, happy life. Although there's been a lot of arguments they're forgotten about in two minutes."
