GREAT Harwood were once again left counting the cost of missed chances as they chalked up their fifth draw of the season.

The NWCL Division One outfit are fast turning into draw specialists winning one of their eight games so far.

But boss Denis Underwood felt his side should have got all three points - as they should against Woodley Sports on Saturday.

"We dominated for the opening 20 minutes and that is why we are so disappointed," said the Harwood chief.

"If we had taken our chances in the last two games we could have got a good points tally."

Underwood is eager to build up the points after battling against relegation last season.

And it looked like they were on target for all three last night when Paul Demaine set up Graham Lightbown who fired home his third goal of the campaign after 12 minutes.

Harwood should have had a bigger lead at the interval with James Coonan going close, John Riley firing wide on two occasions, Lightbown almost doubling the advantage while Demaine and Matt Raywood all had opportunities in the first 20 minutes.

The home side weren't as lively in the second half but still had chances to take it until Abbey Hey were given a lifeline.

Steve Pickup was judged to have handled the ball in the area - although the Harwood bench and the players were adamant it had hit his side - and they converted the spot kick.

The Harwood players were incensed by the decision and Mark Kennedy was sent off for saying something to the referee.

Even so, ten man Harwood still had chance to steal the points, Andrew Proctor going the closest, but Underwood still had to settle for another draw.

"The lads up front are doing well and we are not worried as we are creating chances. We just need to turn them into wins now," he added.
