A MAN was due to appear in court today charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Andrew McManus, 21, of the Old Coach House, Whalley Road, Billington, was sent on bail by magistrates in Blackburn to Preston Crown Court.
He was expected to appear before a judge this morning for a plea and directions hearing.
Neil Heywood, died after a crash in Whalley Old Road, Billington, on April 6.
He received multiple head and internal injuries when his Vauxhall Nova came off the road.
As the car turned over and crashed into a tree, Mr Heywood was thrown from the vehicle.
A passing doctor raised the alarm and Mr Heywood was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he later died.
