PARK View keeper Kelvin Emmett had one of those games he won't forget in a long time.

For the shot-stopper gifted Ighten Leigh a goal, produced a string of fantastic saves and ended up by getting his feet wet!

It was an action packed game for the champions' number one whose routine clearance went horribly wrong and gifted Dwane Knappett the chance to role the ball into an unguarded goal.

But from then on it all got better for Emmett apart from having to jump in to a stream to retrieve the ball.

Park View looked decidedly shaky in the opening exchanges. Emmett was forced into an early save from Knappett before the keeper's clanger gifted the midfield schemer the opening goal.

If anything the blunder seemed to wake the champions up and Paul Ellis and Mick Duxbury combined to release Allen who scored at the second attempt after Tex McGinty saved his initial shot.

The second half was all about Emmett. For while Park View grabbed the goals to seal the win, the keeper turned in a man of the match performance.

He produced a great block to keep out Howes firm strike after good work by Knappett then produced a stunning one-handed save to deny Gavin Creary a memorable goal after a surging run.

With their keeper in unbeatable form, Park View's full backs were encouraged to push forward and it was right back Duxbury who set up the second goal. His deep cross was headed back into the path of Cheetham by Paul Doney who scored from close range.

Park View earned themselves some breathing space eight minutes later when the tireless Doney fired home from inside the area.

Emmett made two more fine saves before Howes scored with a crisp drive at the far post to set up a nervy final 25 minutes for Park View.BURNLEY SUNDAY LEAGUE DIVISION ONE Park View 3 Ighten Leigh 2 Ratings Park View HKelvin Emmett (keeper) At fault for first goal but made up for it with a string of fine saves...8
