WYRE Mayor David Sharples and his wife Lynn are safe and sound -- in Canada!
Mr and Mrs Sharples were placed on the official New York missing list last week after it was realised no one had heard from the civic couple who were touring the terrorism-torn city as part of a private holiday.
Coun Sharples called a friend this week to let them know all was well and the residents of Wyre breathed a huge sigh of relief.
