THERE have been some interesting views expressed in these columns concerning the EU. Of course, we should not only NOT join the Euro, but should quit Europe and its centuries of mischief altogether. It is run mainly by ageing Lefties who are making some of the same mistakes that earlier Labour governments and their trades union friends made here.

The latter two between them decimated British industry by doctrinaires and bureaucratic meddling. These were compounded by strikes, restrictive practices and over-manning.

Industry is not a milch-cow, rather it is the horse that pulls the whole cart. Business people who are intent on us joining this flawed concept seem to imagine some sort of bonanza. Let them be warned! Within 10 years much of Europe will be a rust belt. This is one reason why its currency is so weak at present.
