ONCE again we see "Spinning" Jack Croysdill, peddling his usual load of rubbish regarding a bus shelter on Westminster Road. If Mr Croysdill were to go to Westminster Road he would soon see that in fact there is NO bus shelter there!

So how can a grateful resident thank both the MP and the ward councillor for having it erected? According to Blackpool Council, the next time that a shelter becomes available then it will be earmarked to be placed in Westminster Road. I wonder, could this be a case of Labour party stooge being told to write a letter of thanks and getting the timing wrong? I think very much so!

As Mr Croysdill rambles on about apologies, is it not about time that he and this ruling Labour council apologised to the public of Blackpool for ten years of mismanagement and misrule culminating in the deprivation of this town?

How about an apology for the closure of the care homes, or an apology for having the worst toilets in the country, or an apology for the streets and pavements that even a third world country would be ashamed of?

What about an apology for the rise in council tax of 12 per cent, with the prospect of even steeper rises to come, or for the £5.58 per week rise in council house rents.

Don't the ratepayers of Blackpool deserve an apology for the massive fraud that has been allowed to happen culminating in the loss to the residents of this town of at least £60.000? No attempt has been made to recover any of the money. Don't we warrant an apology from this council for the chaos that they have allowed Blackpool transport to create with the new bus timetable and routes and what about the continuing saga of the zoo?

Mr Croysdill, before you even have the audacity to seek apologies from other people, how about getting your own house in order. Stop acting like an ostrich with your head stuck in the sand thinking everything is all right.

Once in a while take your head out of the sand and look around. It is you and the ruling Labour council who should apologise to every single resident of this town, and humbly so, for the damage you have done to Blackpool.

Deputy Leader,
