REGARDING the present situation we now find ourselves in, the concept of war on a global scale, such as our fathers fought, is long gone.

In the so-called Cold War, even then certain order existed, as both East and West knew any attack by either side would be replied to in kind.

Terrorism has no rules and a minority can attack the majority and inflict real chaos and suffering, as we have seen.

This, I think, is why the so-called coalitions and, particularly, America has not yet taken any military action -- because it is not the complete answer.

Identity cards will only cause harassment as 99.9 per cent of us are law-abiding citizens.

On the question of ID cards, we are no longer a sovereign country and free speech is slowly being strangled.

We are already watched by CCTV. Why the government wants to clamp down on Joe Public and get people into a state of controlled panic when they are not at fault is beyond me. Why spy on us anyway?

"You have nothing to fear" is a downright lie.
