CHILDREN'S charity Global Care has launched an urgent £1 million appeal to help Afghan refugees.
The charity evacuated its workers from the country for their own safety following the Twin Towers bombing and now take aid to neighbouring Tajikastan and Pakistan.
"There is such a huge humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan that we want to make this our largest ever appeal," said charity chief executive Ron Newby. Thousands of children are on the brink of starvation -- and now war has begun."
