POLICE arrested seven people today in connection with a series of armed robberies and burglaries in Greater Manchester including.
More than 100 officers raided a number of addresses in Middleton, Bury and North Manchester in the early hours.
They also swooped on a house in Lancashire as part of Operation Hedgehog which followed seven months of intelligence by detectives from Middleton and the force's robbery unit.
The robberies took place between April and October and included retail outlets and transit vans.
In a number of the incidents, members of the public were threatened with weapons like claw hammers, sledge hammers and other tools.
The people arrested were due to be questioned today.
