TICKETS are now on sale for next year's Commonwealth Games -- but you'll have to move fast to see the most popular events.
Some 750,000 tickets are up for grabs in what bosses are calling the "affordable" Games.
Prices for the 17 sporting events start at £5, and at £21 for the opening and closing ceremonies.
Demand for some events will exceed supply, and a lottery will be held to allocate the tickets.
The Manchester Games, which run from July 25 to August 4 next year, are expected to attract 5,000 athletes and officials from 72 countries.
The closest event to Bury, besides the cycling at Rivington, which is on the Bolton/Chorley border, is the bowling competition at Heaton Park.
There are 1,800 seats available for the bowling. Tickets cost £5, rising to £7 and £10 respectively for the finals and last day.
More information about ticket sales is available from the Games website at www.commonwealthgames.com.
You can also go to local Asda stores or Bury's Tourist Information Centre. The ticket hotline is 0870 1662 2002.
To be included in the lottery for the most popular events, applications must be in by November 15.
