THREE teenagers were arrested today after a racist attack in which a 19-year-old Asian man was stabbed by a gang of white men.

The man, who has not been named, is currently seriously ill in hospital after he was attacked by up to four white men in the Furthergate area of Blackburn, Lancashire.

Today, three men were arrested in connection with the attack and are being interviewed in police stations across Blackburn.

Police said the victim was set upon by a gang of white men who got off a bus bound for Accrington.

He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary with stab wounds and abdominal injuries, where he is currently in a "serious but stable" condition.

Detectives are treating the attack as racially motivated and inquiries are continuing.
