AN electric toothbrush caused a major security alert when it started buzzing inside a box.
Worried workers at the Royal Mail sorting office in Chester Avenue, Clitheroe, alerted managers to the 'suspicious package' and the building was evacuated.
But before the Bomb Disposal Unit arrived police decided to uncover the package - only to find a vibrating electric toothbrush!
A spokesman for Clitheroe Police said: "We were called to a security alert at the Post Office where a suspicious packet had been reported.
"But we discovered what exactly was inside the package before the bomb team arrived."
Wendy Martin, spokesman for Consignia who run Royal Mail, said: "Our staff are always told to be vigilant."
