A VASTLY improved performance from the Rams gave second in the NWCL Division One table Salford a real scare.
The home side only snatched a point out of the game with an equaliser two minutes from the end when the Bolton Combination leading goalscorer of three seasons ago Mattie Hughes volleyed home a screamer. Russell Brierley had put United ahead on the hour mark with his 11th of the season. Dave Roach won the Rams man of the match nomination with former Rochdale and Altrincham striker Jamie Taylor also catching the eye on his debut.
