COMMUNITY leaders in Blackburn are invited to a seminar about drugs misuse at the Jan's Conference Centre in Higher Audley Street tomorrow.

The event, between 9.30am and 1pm, will give local people feedback on a drugs project carried out in the Brookhouse area of Blackburn.

The project was arranged by Blackburn with Darwen Primary Care trust and the ethnic minorities health and social care forum, in conjunction with Lifeline East Lancashire and the Ethnicity and Health Unit at the University of Central Lancashire.

Supported by the Department of Health, the project focused on drugs education, prevention and treatment services and had a 74 per cent response rate to its questionnaires from local people.

The aim is that the project will make it easier for local black and minority ethnic community groups and drugs misuse services to work closely together.

The project was part of the Government's 10-year strategy to tackle drug misuse Tackling Drugs to Build a Better Britain.
