PENDLE Panthers claimed top spot in the Under 15s Division with this comprehensive demolition of trans-Pennine Rivals Bradford Bulls.

The local girls again turned on a magnificent defensive display restricting the visitors to a single four pointer which was only scored with the aid of a large puddle that stopped a strong kick on the last tackle from going dead.

A glance at the tackle count showed an even distribution of effort with eight players registering double figures.

With the defence sewn up, the home side only needed to post a couple of scores to ensure a victory.

A nine try romp ensured a comfortable victory. Laura Moore increased her tally for the season to nine tries in three matches with another clinical finishing display.

Second rower Shaunagh McGarvey came up with another impressive display with two tries and two more strong line breaks that resulted in touchdowns for the home club. The hard-working Beth Cawood was rewarded with a four pointer as was full back Hannah Lord.

But player of the match Kim Morton capped an impressive second half performance, from acting half back, with a great individual effort on the stroke of full time. The biggest cheer of the day however, was reserved for Gemma Jenkins who crossed for her first-ever try.
