HAG Fold WMC's Alan Hall suffered a broken leg in the Leigh Soccer League Division One fixture at leaders Kersal Vale.

The incident happened on 70 minutes with the home side leading 4-0 through goals from Steve White, Mark Gartley, John Smith and Jim Rafferty. The result will stand.

Title-holders Higher Folds had to withstand a spirited second half comeback from visitors George VI for a 2-1 win. Adrian Darwin, on 17 minutes ,and Steve Burns on 32 gave Folds a two-goal cushion which proved just enough to hang on for all three points with Gary Farnworth replying for the visitors on 65 minutes.

Wayne Pitchford, Steve Marsh, Scott Mulcrow and Danny Brooks saw Moonraker to a 4-0 win at Leigh Avenue. Limelight beat FC Legion 5-3, Romano Escobar (2), Dale Evans, Lewis Gallimore and a Graham Davok own goal making up the five with Daniel Wilcox (2) and John Pilkington replying.

In Division Two, goals from Wayne Hamspon and Kevin Scholes saw Atherton Royals to a 2-0 home win over Asda Golborne while Howe Bridge Mills beat Three Crowns B 6-2. Two games finished 1-1, Fir Tree Rangers Reserves with a goal from John McNally and Courts, scorer Anthony Davey and Bowling Green, Michael Peety on 14 minutes, and Concert Inn, Alan Campbell on 58 minutes.

Ukranian Club climbed off the bottom of the table with goals from Dave Boardman (2), Neil Hindley, Steve Crossley and Harry Burrows earning a 5-3 win at Horns Inn having been 3-1 down after 18 minutes. Albert Griffiths (2) and Andy Tipping were the home team scorers.
