MAY I endorse the feelings of the board of the Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley NHS Trust in their delight at the management's decision to give all their hospitals' staff an extra day's holiday for their hard work and dedication to duty (LET, October 5).
I was recently a patient on Wards 1 and 5 at Blackburn Infirmary and cannot thank enough everyone involved for the care and concern shown to me and other patients around me in time of need.
It is sad when some people abuse their kindness by making unreasonable demands.
