THE big problem is how to wean the global losers away from the terrorists when the planet cannot support this upgrading of the Third World to Western lifestyles (the global winners).
The global village is at present unequal and finite. Resources may mean more downgrading than upgrading, not a concept which will endear us in the West to our leaders, who will have to implement the change.
Terrorists will always be able to feed on malcontents who, through world TV, can see that they are indeed global losers compared with super rich westerners and Americans in particular.
It is not just a religious divide, it is economic, as is evidenced by the flood of disadvantaged seeking to come to the West for a better life -- and who can blame them?
