Well Blackburn Sunday League's own Stat Man John Haydock has bravely owned up.

After Longshaw were held to their second consecutive 0-0 draw at the weekend, the question was raised as to when was the last time such a sequence happened.

Being the league statistician and league secretary, John quickly referred to the record books using an impressive data base dating back to the start of the league in 1970.

John said: "I printed out all the 0-0 scorelines then started to go through them to see if there was anything to match Longshaw's achievement.

"I didn't have far to look because there were two instances last season!"

For the record, Lammack did it twice and so did Servicemaster. Both in Division One.

Good recovery John!

Take a quick look at the top of the page and you might notice my e-mail address has changed (lancashire. has been added in front of newsquest).

My existing address still works but the new one will start up in the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, make a note of it and for all those of you who send me regular reports and I will try and contact you to let you know of the change.

The Blackburn Community Seven-a-side League at Witton Park has already started.

But don't worry, any team that has missed out -- like the team I play in Alarms and Communications -- a Third Division is set to start up and there are still a few places left.

I was back in Cardiff last week and I got the chance to nip down to Ninian Park to watch the Bluebirds take on the mighty pie-eating Wigan.

City were pretty rubbish to be honest and were trailing 2-0 when Sam Hamman (that's our chairman you know) took a leisurely stroll around the pitch and stood behind the Wigan keeper -- much to the pleasure of the Cardiff fans.

The Bluebirds promptly fought back to draw 2-2.

Nothing to do with local football, probably against the rules but it made me laugh!

You've seen it all before -- your favourite tabloid ripping in to the opposition for missing a decent story.

Well I covered the Pendle Charity League fixture between Barrowford Redskins and Prairie Rangers and I featured Redskins boozy striker Andy Dibb who banged in five goals.

The Daily Star picked up on the story and gave it a decent show at the weekend and were also keen to follow up why the team wore shirts with the names of famous players on the back -- a story we first ran back in March 2000!
