THE "House Full" signs will be posted at Turf Moor on Friday night - at least as far as the home fans are concerned.

The final tickets for the clash with Grimsby Town were sold yesterday afternoon as the club's supporters have responded to the offer of admission for only £5.

And now the club is hoping that the fans will make it an even more memorable occasion by creating a sea of claret and blue by taking scarves to the game.

Fans have been calling for colours to be worn with pride for the televised clash via web-sites and media and public relations manager Daniel Reuben promised: "We are 100 per cent behind them

"It will be great to see the stands full of people and even better to see them full of people waving claret and blue scarves."

The timing of the match means it is unlikely many Mariners fans will make the effort to battle through the traffic on the M62 but having sold all the home allocation a crowd around 18,500 is guaranteed, only the second crowd over 15,000 this season.

And the club is urging fans to get to Turf moor early for two very good reasons.

Firstly the club's new superstore will be opened by Bertie and Bumble Bee at 6pm and then, before kick-off, fans will get the chance to see some living legends.

The current Clarets team is flying high in the first division and if they can win promotion the likes of Cook, Little, Taylor and Cox will be regarded as legendary figures.

But on Friday fans will be able to see some legends from Burnley's greatest era as the club prepares to launch the video that records the exploits in Europe in the 1960s.

"When We Were Kings - Burnley in Europe", will be on sale in time for Christmas and many players from the two European campaigns will be taking a well deserved lap of honour.

The chance to see such greats as Ralph Coates, Brian O'Neill, Jimmy Robson, Willie Morgan and Jimmy McIlroy is just another added attraction.

"The fans are going to be in for a real treat," said Reuben.

"Apart from gaining admission to the stadium for a fiver, Burnley fans will be able to see the stars of yesteryear parading around the pitch before the match. It is not very often that these great players come together and that is why it is going to be a very special night.

"We ask that supporters arrive at the stadium earlier than usual to fully enjoy the build up to the game."

The players' parade will take place at around 7.30pm, fifteen minutes before kick off.

Meanwhile one time Clarets target Tony Thorpe has been placed on the transfer list by Bristol City at his own request.

Thorpe was linked with a move to the Clarets last season and he is currently the top scorer for Danny Wilson's second division side.
