TRAVELCARE staff in Bury are launching an appeal for Christmas gifts or toys to fill Santa's suitcase.
The branch in the Mill Gate centre is hoping to distribute toys and gifts donated to the When You Wish Upon a Star charity for children with life-threatening illnesses.
As well as asking customers and members of the public to support the the appeal, Travelcare is hoping other local businesses will help fill Santa's suitcase which is on display in the branch.
Bury branch manager Sandra Johnson said: "We're asking customers and members of the local community to help us to spread a bit of cheer this Christmas.
"The toys or gifts they donate will go to a deserving local child, who may be sick or less fortunate than other children."
Travelcare, part of the Co-operative group, is involved in the appeal at all its 350 branches in the UK.
They would prefer gifts to be unwrapped so they can be checked for their suitability and age range.
