CHELSEA defender Celestine Babayaro has admitted the Blues finishing has been letting them down this season as the Blues look for a home improvement against Blackburn tomorrow.

Chelsea have the joint second-best defensive record in the Premiership, having conceded just 11 goals in 12 games, and only Leeds have done better than that so far.

However, the Blues have also scored just 16 goals in those games and, again, only Leeds have hit the target fewer times among the clubs realistically competing for a Champions League place.

And Rovers can even pin-point when those goals are most likely to come as the Blues have bagged the majority of their season's league haul in the final 15 minutes of the first half.

"We need to sort out our goalscoring as that's what has been affecting the team this season," said Babayaro.

"We go out and play a good game and get a couple of chances but we don't finish them off.

"When we get that sorted out, then everything will be fine."

Chelsea's mixed fortunes were summed up in a goalless draw at Everton last weekend, which ensured that the Blues are still in seventh place, even if they are only four points behind leaders Liverpool.

If Marcel Desailly is absent again he will continue to be replaced by William Gallas, who will play alongside John Terry in the centre of defence.

Carlo Cudicini is set to return in goal following Mark Bosnich's thigh injury, while Ed De Goey came through a reserve game on Wednesday to continue his comeback from a knee operation.

Keith Gillespie and Damien Johnson will continue their friendly rivalry for a place in the Rovers starting line-up.

As right-sided midfielders, Northern Irishmen Gillespie and Johnson are in direct competition for both club and country.

Gillespie is on top of their personal duel at present and he is expected to get the nod to line up on the right flank at Stamford Bridge.
