SINGLES:

CRASHLAND: The Devoted EP, (Sugar Shack) -- You have to hand it to Crashland, their debut album sank like the Titanic but rather than buckle under the pressure they've replaced one member with two and re-invented themselves as Stokes soundalikes. Cynical but it just might save their careers. CL (8/10)

U2: Walk On: (Island) -- With the Edge plucking a driving guitar melody straight from Simple Minds back catalogue The Irish legends unload the fourth single from their current album. Another U2 anthem but to easily overshadowed by a magical live version of Where The Streets Have No Name. CL (8/10)

ALBUMS

STING: All This Time, (A&M Polydor) -- Writing good things about Sting feels like I've reached a mid-life crisis point. But this live album has a lazy almost enchanting quality that captures the essence of its setting in the Italy's Tuscany region. What started out as a celebration gig for the fanclub was turned on its head after the events if September 11. And it's Sting's heartfelt performances as he vists his back catalogue that makes this collection so special. The obvious Police hits are there, there's a brilliant acoustic version of the jazz classic Moon Over Bourbon Street, before the emotional finale of Every Breath You Take. CL (9/10)
