A man has been placed on probation for two years for stealing from a house.
Thomas Maher's case had been put back several days while inquiries were made with the probation service.
The 23-year-old of Greenside Avenue, Blackburn, had earlier pleaded guilty to theft.
Preston Crown Court had heard how a man found the defendant at his home in Fielding Crescent.
He recognised him as the boyfriend of his granddaughter.
