CHILDREN in Hyndburn are in training for their own mini commonwealth games.
More than 30 primary schools, plus one or two 'guest' schools, will compete in the Hyndburn Schools Commonwealth Games next June.
Each will be kitted out in the appropriate strip for the country it represents and will travel to three different venues for five eventss: indoor athletics, tag rugby, girl's football, swimming and kwik cricket.
Pupils at St John with St Augustines, Accrington, who will represent New Zealand, were introduced to the games' mascot, Arnie the athletic bear.
