TWO men have appeared before Blackburn magistrates after officers from the Major Crime Unit seized drugs worth more than £40,000 from a house in Billington near Whalley.
A further amount of amphetamine, worth £5,000, was recovered from a car stopped as it left the village and £10,000 was also recovered from a house. John Clayton, 32, of Bank Cottages, Billington, part owner of Altham Car Dismantlers, is charged with being concerned in the supply of 6kg of amphetamine worth £30,000, being concerned in the supply of 2kg of cannabis resin worth £10,000 and supplying Christopher Drew Brooks with 1kg of amphetamine.
Brooks, 42, of Albany Road, Blackburn, is charged with being concerned in the supply of 1kg of amphetamine, escaping from lawful custody and possession of a small amount of cannabis.
Clayton, a former psychiatric nurse, and Brooks were both remanded in custody until December 5.
