DON'T forget that the big switch on for Darwen's Christmas lights takes place this Saturday.
There will be a whole range of entertainment starting at noon in Darwen town centre. Dorothy, the star of Darwen Library Theatre's Christmas show, the Wizard of Oz will be turning on the lights and there will be a chance to make your own scarecrow at a workshop run by Action Factory Community Arts. 'Christmas Switch On' entertainment includes a selection of street performers and family entertainment, Christmas music, DJ's, Latin Christmas music and dance, competitions and prizes and much more. Dorothy will be turning on the lights at 4pm.
Meanwhile Darwen town centre and markets will be open throughout the day providing traditional Lancashire shopping with a friendly atmosphere,
