POLICE are still hunting a former Todmorden man they want to question in connection with a 25-year-old murder.

They are trying to track down 56-year-old Raymond Hewlett who used to live in Dyneley Avenue, Todmorden.

He has been named in a Sunday newspaper as a main suspect in the 1975 killing of 11-year-old Lesley Molseed.

Mr Hewlett lived in Todmorden from the early 1960s to the mid 1970s.

West Yorkshire police have no fewer than 103 suspects.

Det Chief Supt Max McLean said Mr Hewlett was among those they were looking at.

Lesley's body was found on moorland above Ripponden on October 5, 1975, three days after being abducted from near to her home in Rochdale.

She had been stabbed 12 times.

Inland Revenue clerk Stefan Kiszko was convicted of her murder but in 1992 DNA evidence proved his innocence after he had spent 16 years behind bars.

He was released from prison but died only a few months later.

Earlier this year Lesley's mother April Garrett and sister Julie Anderson put posters up in Todmorden for information.

An incident room probing the case was opened at Halifax police station in March.

Detectives have been working their way through the list of suspects but have not revealed how many they still need to see.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 01484 405275.
