IAM writing on behalf of the residents of Bacup regarding the Christmas tree in Bacup Town Centre.

A number of people have complained about the state of the tree. We, the people of Bacup, feel it is an insult to us.

The tree is very thin and not very well decorated. There are hardly any lights on it, about 10 all placed around the top. We feel that if this is all the council can offer then why bother at all? It does not really set a good standard for the town.

Bacup's not very big, but there are still a number of people who pass through and visit the town and we feel that it is a disgrace to the people of Bacup.

We do not expect too much, just a better tree with more decorations to make the town look more festive.

We write this letter in the hope the council will take more of an interest.

For and on behalf of the people of Bacup.
