I DO wish Cllr Airey would stop boasting about the amount of overnight stays that will be created in the district in 2002.
Along with his colleagues on the regeneration board he has already managed to get rid of about 15,000 bed nights in Morecambe by losing the Punk Festival.
He should forget Thatcheresque jokes about 'turning ewes' on his farm and start taking his responsibilities seriously.
He should come down to Morecambe and talk with businesses in the tourism industry.
It might save him a lot of ridicule and Morecambe businesses a lot of money.
The next meeting of the Hotel & Tourism Association is 8pm on December 11 at the Grove Restaurant, Morecambe.
