TO THE writer of "Details supplied" (Citizen: 22/11/01) Yes, I do see what's happening in this country of ours and you seem to be one of the problems.

We pensioners fought in a World War.

Not and English war, or European or even an Asian war, we fought to make the world a better place.

We didn't fight to make England, the UK or even Europe a better place, but to make the world a better place where everybody has the right to a decent life.

So don't spout your prejudice, using us pensioners as a front.

I for one do not share your biased, heartless, ridicule of these potential immigrants. It is sad enough the hardships they have tolerated without people like you denigrating their plight.

Let's be a bit caring and offer these people the support we can muster.

They are not taking anything from us pensioners.

We have our adequate pensions, heating allowance, free TV licence and a Christmas box.

Okay, I'd like more, but not at the expense of others in more need than my wife and I.
