HOOKER Leon Treco will be out to grab his big chance when Sedgley Park travel to Fylde tomorrow looking to get back to winning ways.

Hooker Paul Keyes hurt his ribs in the home defeat by leaders Plymouth Albion at Park Lane last Saturday. Treco came on for him then, but this will be his first start of the season when Sedgley trot out at the Woodlands Memorial Ground in Ansdell on the outskirts of Lytham St Annes tomorrow afternoon.

"Leon gets his chance," said Sedgley's Welsh international half back and coach, Colin Stephens. "It's his first start and he's champing at the bit -- which is not a bad thing."

Stephens himself is keeping his fingers crossed in the hope that he will, at last, throw off a niggling hamstring injury and play against Fylde.

The goalkicking ace has been sidelined for a month now since pulling up in the warm-up at Stourbridge and he says: "I am fed of being injured. I am hoping to play.

"I trained on Tuesday and ran, not very quickly, but if I come through training on Thursday night I will play at the weekend."

Full back Alun Peacock, a former Fylde and Orrell player, is also struggling with a shoulder injury picked up against Plymouth and Sedgley will check on a few more bumps and bruises before naming their side.

"We have licked our wounds after the Plymouth defeat and now we want to get back to winning ways," added Stephens. "Fylde is a hard place to go to start winning again, but we have to get a result."

The coast club, who dropped to sixth in the National League Two table after last Saturday's 27-18 defeat at Kendal, include former Sedgley man Mike Bradwell in their ranks and are set to welcome back skipper Matt Filipo, hooker Martin Scott, second row Jon Taylor, back row forward Chris Jones, while former Halifax Rugby League star Phil Hassan is rated 60-40 in his favour as he battles to overcome a knee injury.
