I DO not understand the logic in wanting to retain the dilapidated Ashton Institute which has been derelict and an eyesore for many years and would cost a fortune to renovate.
One would think that the developers were wanting to purchase half of Ashton Gardens rather than one tiny unused plot.
Newfield would vastly improve the area as they have done so many times in the past, retaining the character of St Annes. For goodness sake let them get on with it.
