ROBBIE Blake is a player that Clarets manager Stan Ternent is interested in signing but there is no £600,000 move imminent.

He did admit that the story was pretty close to the mark and so explained: "I don't normally comment on speculation but this story seems to have come out from somewhere at the Bradford end.

"It's been ongoing for a while, but it's dead now because he is too much money for me.

"He is a player I have an interest in but it would be unfair on (Bradford boss) Jim Jeffries for me to comment. It is him that I deal with and that is how it will stay.

"Someone has let the cat out of the bag but it certainly wasn't me."

Ternent again spoke of his desire to strengthen his squad and he confirmed that the Bradford City striker is just one of a number of players that he is currently monitoring.

Blake has been in and out of the Bradford side this season although the departure of Italian Benito Carbone did give him a chance to stake a claim.

He played for the reserves in midweek against Everton and the 25-year-old could be available for sale if the right bid were to come in for him. He has already tasted one promotion to the Premier League having helped Bradford go up a couple of seasons ago.

Bantams chairman Geoffrey Richmond would not comment on any move for the player by the Clarets.
