News summary from Ewood Park.

Brilliant Bobby! FORMER England legend Sir Bobby Charlton might be getting ready to collect his pension next year.

But one of the true legends of World football is still as popular as ever with the autograph hunters.

For Sir Bobby, pictured, was wearing his directors hat at Rovers' reserve game against Manchester United on Thursday night.

And he was swamped by people all evening asking for his signature.

In typical fashion, however, he courteously obliged -- even to the point of signing a door at Morecambe's Christie Park on the groundman's request!!!

Brad's stunning stops are noted BRAD Friedel's stunning form for Rovers this season is reflected in the latest Opta Index stats.

Only Charlton keeper Dean Kiely has made more saves than Friedel this season.

Republic of Ireland international Kiely tops the charts with 66 stops, closely followed by Friedel on 62 and Spurs stopper Neil Sullivan on 57.

And Rovers' current problems in front of goal have also been highlighted by the stat company.

Going into today's games, Rovers are currently equal third in the list of teams with the most shots off target (102).

Not surprisingly, bottom-of-the-table Ipswich currently top that particular section with 114 explaining the reason why George Burley swooped for Marcus Bent.

Rovers' Craig Short is currently fourth in the list of top 10 defenders while David Dunn is ninth best attacking midfielder.

Date for Owls ROVERS' reserve game with Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday, December 18, has now been put back due to the Owls' involvement in a first team fixture.

The new date is now Thursday, December 20, with the game set to kick-off at Hillsborough at 7pm.

Games are moving ROVERS have announced two new dates for their forthcoming Premiership clashes with Aston Villa at Ewood and Leeds United at Elland Road.

The Villa game, which had been scheduled for Wednesday March 6, will now take place on Tuesday March 5.

And the trip to Leeds, which was set for Saturday March 16, has now been switched to Sunday March 17.

The above changes are due to the fact that both of these games will now appear on Sky's Pay-Per-View channel in the New Year.
