A WARD of patients was evacuated from Bury's Fairfield Hospital after a fluorescent light overheated and began smoking.
Firefighters were called to Ward 19 after staff became concerned and triggered the alarm. The incident happened at 1.30am yesterday but the patients were back in bed 15 minutes later.
