JODY BANIM returns from suspension for Radcliffe Borough's trip to Stocksbridge on Saturday eager to make up for lost time, writes STEVE BOTT.

The 19-goal hitman was bitterly disappointed at having to miss out against his old club, Rossendale United, at Stainton Park on Boxing Day after being hit with a one-match ban for accumulating five bookings.

But he'll be back champing at the bit and keen to take out his frustration on the Steelmen from Sheffield.

"Jody was gutted at having to miss out against Rossendale because they are his old club and they let him go, but I told him it is just one match and and its not just about beating Rossendale for us this season."

Stocksbridge are currently languishing in 16th position in the UniBond Division One table, eight points above bottom club Kendal Town and a massive 24 adrift of leaders Radcliffe.

There has been a change at management level recently with former Manchester City and Stoke striker Wayne Biggins linking up with Michael Horne to try to bring about a change in fortunes.

Biggins is still playing for Stocksbridge, but has had to be content with a place on the bench along with 11-goal leading scorer Gary Hurlston recently.

The Steelers have signed two new hitmen, Paul Jackson from Barnsley and Jonathan Pickers from Hednesford and they have lost just once in seven games since they arrived.

But Glendon is looking forward to the trip, as he says: "I always like going there because they have a wonderful pitch which suits the way we play."
