CHRISTMAS post service to help raise cash for Darwen's youth groups has been hailed a huge success.
The service, which delivers post in Darwen, Hoddlesden and Lower Darwen, delivered 6,000 cards and raised £700 for the St Joseph's Scout group and the Cellar Dwellers Venture Scout and Ranger Guides.
The stamps, costing 14p, were sponsored by Belgrave Carpets.
Some cards remain undelivered because a full postal address was not used. They include one with a photograph of a schoolchild in it from Anne, Kev and Loz to Michael, Julie, Alex and Curtis, one to the Barnes family from Rita and Maureen, and one to Mary from Marion and Gordon - if they're yours, contact Alan Cooper on 01254 706408.
