THE suggestion of a recent correspondent in the local press to connect the illuminations to one of the proposed wind farms off the coast and save a lot of money is a good idea, if these ever came to fruition.
My suggestion would be to connect them up to the Town Hall as there is enough hot air emitted from there to power the whole of Lancashire.
