HARRY Potter fans could be forgiven for thinking they have seen the famous schoolboy in Darwen.

Six-year-old Hayden Caldwell was picked out from hundreds of hopefuls all wanting to be named the top lookalike in a competition to find a double of JK Rowling's special schoolboy.

Hayden and five other finalists were whisked off by Now magazine on a wizard day out earlier this month, where they visited the London Dungeon and had lunch at Planet Hollywood.

But Hayden was just pipped to the post by winner Christopher Kerrin, from Newry, County Down, who walked away with the £100 cash prize.

Hayden, who lives in Cranberry Lane and is a pupil at St Barnabas School in Darwen said he still felt lucky, even though he hadn't won, because he enjoyed where he lived and had plenty of animals to play with -- although no owl, like his screen lookalike.

He said: "I'm lucky because I have my own Welsh mountain pony, Honeymonster.

"I brush him and lead him along the lane outside my house.

"I've also got two cats, a cockatiel and three chickens.

"There used to be 13 but a fox got them.

"I like to paint and I want to be an artist when I grow up."

His mother, Mrs Janice Caldwell, said: "I never normally enter competitions but I took Hayden to the hairdressers for a haircut and they all commented on how he much he looked like Harry Potter. "Then I saw the competition in Now so thought I'd give it a try.

"He doesn't usually wear glasses but he did for the competition -- I was amazed when they contacted us."

Hayden's dad Stewart said: "Hayden hasn't seen the film yet as he wasn't really a fan but he wants to see it now, so I think we will have to take him -- although his brother Ashley has already seen it."

He added Hayden and his brother had received four Harry Potter board games as Christmas presents.

Hayden went to London with his mum and one of her friends.

Janice said: "It was brilliant. He enjoyed every minute of it,. He wasn't really a Harry Potter fan before -- it was more his brother Ashley -- but he is now! "

All the boys were awarded prizes including Marks and Spencer Hogwarts outfits and goodie bags containing a Harry Potter toy and games and sweets.
