BURY boss Andy Preece is looking for some home comfort to help his side climb up the Second Division table.

Defeat at Queen's Park Rangers on Saturday saw the Shakers slide back into the relegation places and Preece is keen to make sure their stay in the drop zone is only a short one.

And with two fixtures at Gigg in a matter of days this week - Huddersfield Town visit tonight (7.45pm) with Tranmere Rovers in town on Saturday - there is a great chance for the club to cash in on home advantage.

Preece knows just how important it is for the Shakers to pick up points on their own turf especially after a couple of bad results on their travels.

"These games will be tough ones as both Huddersfield and Tranmere are in the top ten but two good results will really lift us up the table," he said.

"Home form is the key to any team's season so if we can pick up four or six points it will do us the world of good."

Preece's hand will be strengthened by the availability of midfielders Chris Billy and Jason Jarrett and central defender Sam Collins who all served one match suspensions on Saturday.

Both Billy and Collins are former Town players and along with another former Terrier Ian Lawson will be keen to put one over on their former club.

But Preece admitted to having some difficult selection decisions to make ahead of tonight's match.

"It'll be a tough job to pick the side after coming off the back of two three goal defeats," he added.

"It always makes the job easier if we are on winning run and flying high at the top of the league."

Huddersfield look like standing by the team that lost 1-0 to Reading at the McAlpine Stadium on Saturday.

Manager Lou Macari's options are limited due to injuries with long term victims Craig Armstrong and Dutchman Clyde Wijnhard both on the bench but far from match fit.

Preece has confirmed that he will definitely be contesting Steve Redmond's sending off at QPR on Saturday.

After studying the match video he is even more convinced that referee Steve Tomlin was wrong to show the Shakers defender a red card.

"There's no way it was even a foul when you look at it again," he said.

"It wasn't two footed and he won the ball cleanly, I'll be amazed if the decision isn't overturned!"
