THE pressure is not on the Clarets strikers - it is on everyone.

Goals will secure Burnley a place in either the automatic promotion places or the play-offs and assistant manager Sam Ellis feels that all the team have to contribute in the remaining 16 outings.

"We have had 13 or 14 different players who have scored this season," said Ellis.

"Obviously everyone looks to the strikers but both the midfield and defence can contribute - after all it is a team game."

A case in point was midfielder Paul Weller bagging the winner in the midweek success over Watford.

But Ellis refuted the fact that Wolves' Thursday win at Crystal Palace had changed the nature of the run-in.

The Molineux club's success in the capital moved them level on points with leaders Manchester City and four ahead of the chasing pack, leading some pundits to suggest the battle was over. But Ellis thinks not.

"You can't say that Manchester City and Wolves are out of reach," he opined.

"Everyone knows that they are the teams to try and catch but all the rest can do is press on, put pressure on them and see what happens. There are a lot of games to play.

"Our attitude is to keep going. We keep the same attitude for every game.

"At Watford we showed that we are fit and fresh by getting a winner in the 93rd minute.

"We gained a lot of points early on in the season, then there has been a lean spell, but we have come through it and we just have to take it game by game."

Confidence received a boost with the win at Vicarage Road, but Ellis felt that there will be enough competition in every game to keep the Clarets on their toes.

"We were delighted with the win at Watford, but then we were confident going into that game," he explained.

"Today we play Barnsley and we felt that when we drew 3-3 with them at Turf Moor we should have won the game.

"Now we face them with a new manager who has obviously gone in and done well, so we know it is going to be difficult.

"But if we want to achieve, we are going to have to work hard for it, let's just hope our form from Watford continues."

The Clarets went into the Oakwell clash with £1million signing Robbie Blake fit after his appearance for an hour in midweek and winger Alan Moore is fit again after missing the trip to Watford with a hamstring problem.

Skipper Steve Davis continues on the road to recovery from a knee injury which has ruled him out of action since the start of November. A trip to Crewe on February 23 is his initial target.
