LOCAL people heading for the seaside this summer needn't bother because for the seaside is coming to Bury!
Kids can make sandcastles, ride on donkeys and enjoy candy floss when the town stages a novel Bury Beach and Barbecue Weekend.
The Bury Times Group is to stage the event at Chesham Fields, off Walmersley Road, on Saturday and Sunday, July 6 and 7.
Group events manager Julie Wheeler said: "They had this event in Hereford and it proved very popular indeed.
The real jewel in the crown will be a massive 50ft by 50ft sandpit where youngsters can play while enjoying a candyfloss."
